The SEDI Board of Directors is a large group of leaders representing government, business, education, and non-profit sectors in northern Arizona. The SEDI Board is comprised of thirty-three Directors and fourteen Alternate members. The SEDI Board meets monthly to discuss a topic related to sustainable economic development, share news of sustainable development and network.
SEDI 2012-2013 LEADERSHIP
President and Board Chairman Jim Wurgler, M.D. retired from medical practice in 2005 and serves on the Williams City Council.
Co-Vice President External Robert Kelty is the Superintendent of Coconino County Schools.
Co-Vice President Intneral Rebecca Sayers is the Sustainability & Environmental Program Manager and Public Works for the City of Flagstaff.
Treasurer Art Babbott is a small business owner who runs the Flagstaff Community Markets, a regional farmers market, spent 6 years on Flagstaff City Council, and has been elected to serve on the Coconino County Board of Supervisors.
Secretary Dave Williamson is the owner and founder of Sustainable Packaging Solutions and co-owner and founder of Arizona High Spirits Distillery.
Past Board President Ron Hubert is also the President of Hozho International, a faculty member at Northern Arizona University and has broad experience as a business executive and consultant.

William “Bill” Auberle is Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Research Director, Ecological Monitoring & Assessment Program & Foundation at Northern Arizona University. Concurrently he serves as a Principal at EN3 Professionals, LLC – a professional consulting firm in Flagstaff specializing in energy, environmental, and engineering services.
Richard Baron is a Program Manager for the Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
Carol Bousquet is the vice-chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Flagstaff Regional Plan and an AICP certified planner.
Rich Bowen is the Associate Vice President for Economic Development and Sustainability at Northern Arizona University.
Linda Buchanan is the Community Education and Development Officer at Yavapai College, Greater Verde Valley.
Joe Costion is an Energy Consultant for Passive Solar systems and specializing in Solar Green House Design, Weatherization, and Sustainable Green Building.
Wayne R. Fox is the Director of the Center for Business Outreach and a member of the accounting faculty at Northern Arizona University’s W.A. Franke College of Business.
Steve Gatewood is the President of Wildwood Consulting and the former director of the Greater Flagstaff Forest Partnership.
Kurt Haskell is the Director for the Small Business Development Center at Coconino Community College and holds a faculty position at NAU.
Tim Kinney is the owner of Kinney Construction Services.
Mandy Roberts Metzger represents District 4 on the Coconino County Board of Supervisors.
William “Bill” Morrison is a Principal of Benefit and Financial Strategies, LLC.
Pat Nelson is a a Program Coordinator for the Division of Community and Corporate Learning at Coconino Community College.
Jonathan Netzky is the owner of Local Alternative Catering.
John Neville is the President of Sustainable Arizona and helps businesses and communities with sustainable systems consulting and communications services.
Rick Nicosia is the Northern Arizona Division Manager for APS, the region’s electric utility.
Carl Ramsey is the owner of Flagstaff’s Architectural & Environmental Associates, Inc. (AEA).
William P. “Bill” Ring is a Flagstaff attorney specializing in all phases of land use law and development including zoning & planning, regulatory approvals, and development permits.
Joel Southall is the Director of Environmental Affairs for Xanterra South Rim, L.L.C. at Grand Canyon National Park.
Ernie Strauch is a former vice-mayor for the Sedona City Council.
Carl Taylor is serving his second term on the Coconino County Board of Supervisors and represents District 1, which includes northwest Flagstaff, Valle, Tusayan, Grand Canyon and Fredonia.
Karin Wadsack is a project director for the Institute for Sustainable Energy Solutions at NAU and a senior scientist with EN3 Professionals, LLC.
Al White is serving his third term on Flagstaff City Council and has been a champion of sustainability.
Marshall Whitmire is the owner and Managing Director of RCI Surveys, Inc. and Director of R&D and University Relations for Building Communities, Inc., a national economic development strategic planning firm.
Holly Yeager is the Organizational Development Director for Coconino County.
Russ Yelton is the President and CEO of the Northern Arizona Center for Emerging Technologies.

Sheila Anders is Director of Administrative Services and chairs the sustainability committee at the Northern Arizona University Center for International Education. She is a Board alternate for Pat Nelson.
Celia Barotz is serving her first term on the Flagstaff City Council. She is a Board Alternate for Al White.
Karl Eberhard is the Planning and Community Design Section Manager for the City of Flagstaff. He is a Board Alternate for Bill Ring.
Gioia Goodrum is the President/CEO of the Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce.
Barbara Hockabout is a faculty member of Northland Pioneer College. She is a Board Alternate for Joe Costion.
Stephanie McKinney is the Northwest Regional Manager for National Bank of Arizona and currently serves as the chairman of the Flagstaff Forty organization. She is a Board Alternate for Ron Hubert.
Morgan O’Connor is the Environmental Affairs Director for Xanterra Parks & Resorts at the Grand Canyon Railway and Petrified Forest National Park. He is a Board Alternate for Joel Southall.
Kevin Ordean is a student in the NAU Sustainable Communities program.
Sue Pratt is a Principal Planner for the Coconino County Community Development Department. She is a Board Alternate for Mandy Metzger.
Mel Preston is the Economic Development Director for the Town of Camp Verde, Arizona.
Drew Ramsey has been with Architectural & Environmental Associates, Inc. for four years and is a graduate of Kansas University.
Casey Rooney is the Economic Development Director for the City of Cottonwood and the President and CEO of the Cottonwood Economic Development Council.
Beth Tucker is the Executive Director of the US Cooperative Extension Service in Flagstaff.

Diane Chung is Superintendent for the Flagstaff Area National Monuments for the National Park Service. She serves as a liaison to the SEDI Board of Directors.
